About UsLocated on a windy road in the most remote section of Sequoia National Park, 90 minutes away from the crowds and the camping trailers found elsewhere in the Park, Silver City Resort has captivated a loyal group of guests over the years that have expanded generations. Our area is considered a right of passage for the most ardent of mountain lovers, and boats some of the most beautiful trails and high sierra access. What makes us unique is also the fact that four small cabin communities can be found nearby, well over a hundred years old, and inhabited in the summertime by descendants of the original pioneers who spent their summers under the redwoods and tall peaks of this unique alpine settlement. Whether you want to escape the heavy hand of industry and city lights to relax under the cedar boughs, or hike into the high Sierra, we are a great place to start! Our Facilities

The nearest town is Three Rivers, 75 minutes from the resort. ** PLEASE NOTE: 2025-2028 Road Construction: The Park’s executives have given the green light for a major road construction project that will bring significant improvements to our beloved Mineral King Road. Over the course of the new few years we will have over 200 new culverts and smooth fresh pavement! To ensure your visit goes smoothly during this time, be sure to reach out for the road construction schedule, information, and map. And as always, our dedicated team is here to address any questions or concerns you may have. Directions from Visalia: 1. Go East on Hwy 198 for about 20 miles to Three Rivers. 2. After passing the Chevron gas station in Three Rivers, continue for about 2 miles. Watch the right side for the Mineral King Road turn-off. 3. Take Mineral King Road to Silver City, about 21 miles with about 639 turns. (taking 60-90 minutes) Mineral King Road is a small windy mountain road but well worth the drive. Please drive carefully and enjoy beautiful vistas. |
Parking | Each cabin has its own designated parking spot. |
Things To Do | HIKING ADVENTURES Silver City and the Mineral King valley are the gateway to some the best hiking in the Sequoias. There are a variety of mountain lakes and streams to explore and plenty of peaks to conquer. Whether you are a beginning hiker looking to see some wildlife and enjoy the beauty or an advanced hiker hoping for a new challenge, Silver City and Mineral King are for you! FLY FISHING ADVENTURES Our mountain trout won't be the biggest you will catch, but the taste and the tales you tell will surely be one of the best fisherman's stories of the year. Fishing in Sequoia National Park and the lakes above will satisfy most appetites. LEISURE AND READING One of the most popular activities on the mountain is relaxing and refueling. Forget about your phone, leave Facebook and social media behind, grab a book, take a nap, enjoy a walk, and bask in the beautiful nature. COOKING Practicing the culinary arts is also a favorite at Silver City. Offering the only lodging in Sequoia National Park with private kitchens, most of our cabins include a fully stocked kitchen with all the tools needed to create a culinary masterpiece. MUSIC There is something about the majesty of the High Sierras that inspires and sets the creative juices flowing. Local bands frequently perform on the store deck and jam sessions on Sunday afternoons are frequent. From the aspiring amateur to the professional musician, all are welcome here. |
