About Us

The Soldiers Motel is conveniently located behind the Soldiers Club and Bistro in the heart of Mudgee. We offer a variety of room types to choose from: 8 ground floor with baths and 9 upper level with spa baths. We have 1 disabled access room equipped for special needs.Soldiers Motel is a small family owned business that provides travellers a warm and friendly stay. All our units have King or Queen beds, reverse cycle air conditioning, electric blankets and are non smoking. Wireless Internet is available free of charge. The property also has a swimming pool ( in summer months )and an undercover barbeque area. Continental and fully cooked Breakfasts are served to your rooms between 7am and 8.00am Monday to Friday and from 8.00 am on Saturday and Sunday. We are 50 metres from The Mudgee Soldiers Club where guests can enjoy a meal, quiet drink and a range of entertainment.
Things to 'See and Do' in Mudgee: Mudgee is a fantastic wine growing region. The Soldiers Motel is close to many cellar doors that cater to the demands of wine lovers. The small Thistle Hill winery produces some very good organic wines and close to Mudgee is High Valley Wine and Cheese Company. The Mudgee Brewing Co also specialises in handcrafted beers onsite.
Nearby Natural sites include Frog Rock, Windamere Dam, for fishing, sailing, swimming, canoeing and boating. The Drip picnic area to see the fabulous fern covered rock formations and the fascinating 'Hands on the Rock' where you can view the stenciled hands of the aboriginal custodians from earlier times. Wollemi National Park is a mecca for sightseeing, bushwalking and wilderness adventure. Dunns Swamp area, east of Rylstone is a popular spot. Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve (north-east of Mudgee) a renowned birdwatching spot. Meander along the Castle Rocks track or enjoy a picnic or BBQ at Moolarben Picnic Area. See Goulburn River National Park with its unique mix of fauna and flora. Whilst Coolah Tops National Park (30km east of Coolah) is home to the stately eucalypt forest at an altitude of more than 1200m. Visit magnificent waterfalls, view dazzling vistas of the Liverpool plains and encounter giant Snow Gums and ancient Grass Trees. Visit Mudgee Museum built in 1856. Or enjoy a walk through Henry Lawson's life at the nearby Henry Lawson Centre in Gulgong. The Wallaby Track drive tour takes in various sites associated with Lawson and his writing, including the old Eurunderee School, the Henry Lawson Memorial, the Budgee Budgee Inn (out on the Cassilis Road), Sapling Gully, Golden Gully and the site of the Albury Pub which was owned by Lawson's grandfather. Finding Us Mudgee is located on the Central Tablelands of NSW, 268 kilometres or 4 hours drive from Sydney.
