About UsThe newly refurbished Central Motel is located right in the heart of beautiful Port Fairy. You will find us tucked away in a quiet cul de sac just off the main street. Our charming bluestone building is set amongst a delightful garden setting. We offer affordable 3.5 star accommodation with 19 units including one with wheelchair access. All rooms have queen size beds and wireless broadband will keep you connected anywhere on the grounds. Once rejuvenated in our comfy beds you are able to step out onto Sackville Street and be amongst the boutiques, cafes, hotels, galleries and restaurants that make up the very essence of Port Fairy. Getting There | Finding the Central Motel, Port Fairy Port Fairy is just three and quarter hours west of Melbourne. Travel by car via the Princes Highway, or take the scenic route via the Great Ocean Road, 6 hour drive. Daily rail and coach services are available from Melbourne. The Central Motel is located in the middle of Sackville Street, the main street of Port Fairy. The laneway entrance is located next to the Chinese Restaurant which is across the road from Brookes Home Timber and Hardware (also known as Home Electrics). |

Things To Do | Come and see for yourself why Port Fairy was voted "The Worlds Most LIveable City - under 20,000 people, for 2012" Things to see and do in Port Fairy Port Fairy is a key feature of the Shipwreck Coast and Great Ocean Road and Home of the internationally renowned Port Fairy Folk Festival. There is something for everyone in Port Fairy, so leave the car secure in The Centrals car park and go explore all Port Fairy has to offer. Stroll along the historic wharf beside the beautiful Moyne River, where you will find Port Fairy's fishing fleets and pleasure craft. Pick up a Historic Walk map from the Visitor Centre and take a walking tour of 30 historic buildings and locations. Watch the local catch being unloaded at Fishermans Wharf. Explore Griffiths Island to see the spectacle of thousands of mutton birds flying in at dusk to feed their young (nesting September - May) Take a cruise out to the seal colony on Lady Julia Percy Island. Try some fishing; bay, river and surf. Swim and surf at East Beach. Follow the track to the lighthouse on the point at Griffiths Island. Visit the Port Fairy historical museum for a glimpse of the towns early days. Search for the Mahogany Ship, believed to be buried in sand east of the town. Browse through an eclectic range of shops and galleries. Play a round of golf on a course consistently ranked within the '25 Best Public Access Courses in Australia'- this classic links style course winds its way through unspoilt sand dunes and provides spectacular views of the Southern Ocean. Feast on fine local fare in our world class cafes and restaurants. Picnic or barbecue at the foreshore reserve. See abundant native wildlife at the Tower Hill State Game Reserve, Victoria's first national park. Learn to surf. Spend an inspiring day doing the Art Walk and visit the many painters, glass artists, textile designers, printmakers, and sculptors in town. Check out the open air market on the Village Green most Saturday mornings to sample the local produce. Cyclists haven't been forgotten either as the first sections of the Port Fairy - Koroit - Warrnambool Rail Trail are well underway. The rail trail is due for completion by the end of 2011 but there are sections that you can use already. Port Fairy may be small in population but it's big in brilliance! Terms and Conditions | Your credit card is provided to secure and support your booking. If your card is not valid or has insufficient funds your booking may be cancelled at the discretion of management. During heavily booked periods the full tariff may be deducted from the credit card provided, 7 days in advance of arrival. These periods include Christmas to Jan 31, Easter, Folk Festival & public holidays. American Express credit cards can be used for booking confirmation, but we do apply a surcharge of 3% if you wish to pay with your AMEX card. All other cards attract a surcharge of 1.5%. All our rooms and foyers are non-smoking and any non-compliance will result in extra cleaning charges - up to $200 if carpets, curtains and bedding all require dry cleaning. At the discretion of the motel manager, rooms will not be serviced on a public holiday. |
